Shelley Vanhoozer - APRN-NP

I chose nursing as a career to be able to help patients in both the good and difficult times in their lives. Nursing offers a variety of opportunities for career choices and specialties. I started my nursing career in the hospital setting working primarily cardiology and the progressive care unit. After working as an RN for ten years I returned to school for my Masters as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. As an NP I have a variety of experience in hospital medicine and home care primarily. I feel that my experience with hospital medicine gave me a good background for pain medicine specialty. I enjoy spending time with my three children. Also, spending time at the lake or any outdoor activities and I love the beach and ocean and try to go as often as I can.
